The festive season is nearly upon us so in order to remain organised Beckets have decided to give you a sneak preview of what this month brings to the centre!
Charity Netball Rally - In order to raise money for Cancer Research UK, Becket's Netball League will be playing a charity match on Saturday 10th December in order to raise money for the charity.
Charity Raffle tickets are currently being sold for Cancer Research UK at the centre for 50p per strip of 5 tickets. Prizes will include a hamper, chocolates, biscuits and lots of other goodies. So dont delay and upon your next visit to the centre buy a strip or two!
Christmas Nibbles - Back by popular demand the famous Christmas Nibbles will make their appearance starting on Monday 12th December - Thursday 15th December. (Nibbles will be available between 6pm and 9pm)

COFFEE MORNINGS have finally arrived at Beckets! Today (15/11/11) was the launch of our first coffee morning in conjunction with Cancer Research UK. Several members arrived for the official launch and a good time was had by all and more importantly money raised for such a worthwhile cause. In between the flowing cups of tea and coffee being consumed, membres were able to network with one another and have a catch up without any interuptions (apart from the biscuits being munched)! If this sounds like a bit of you, why not join us for the next coffee morning which will be held on Wednesday 14th December at 10am in the first floor lounge area. Becket Sports Centre welcomes all centre users to attend.

Becket's Sport Centre worked in conjunction with Dartford Sainsburys for Red Nose Day and the sum of £721.34 was raised by shoppers donatiing, whilst the Store Manager and Deputy Store Manager cycled over a 100 miles on a bike which was donated for use by the centre for the day.

So what's the latest here at Becket Sports Centre?
Well we have our summer kids activities starting soon (more information below) so if you're looking for a way to keep the kids entertained over the 6 week holiday, take a look at what we've got on and give us a call to book.
We've relaunched the Becket Bulletin which is packed full of training tips, exercise ideas and all the latest from your local sports centre - if there's anything you'd like featured in the Bulletin get in touch and let us know.

Netball
As you may or may not know, we have our very own netball league here at Beckets, which attracts 16 teams across three divisions.
In December, six of those teams were invited to play in our annual fundraising tournament held in the memory of Karen Ramsey, who used to play for Voda NC here at Beckets. Players and spectators alike enjoyed a day of great netball, as well as prize-winning! We held a raffle (and a “guess the number of sweets in the big jar” competition, of course!), and had a selection of handmade jewellery and crafts for sale. All this, as well as the tournament, raised nearly £300 for Cancer Research UK – A big thank you to all those who contributed to a truly memorable day!
Christmas = Party Season!
And if one big event wasn’t enough, we decided to throw a Christmas party for some of our most important customers – the kids! Nearly 40 children came for a day of festive fun on 22nd December, that included the bouncy castle, mask-making, games and disco dancing (there were lights and everything!)
The adults weren’t forgotten though, and in the run up to Christmas, we laid on some drinks and snacks for our members to say big thank you for their support throughout 2009. Thankfully, most of our customers opted to eat the mince pies and other such delights AFTER their gym session, so the mop and bucket stayed in the cleaning cupboard. Needless to say, it all went down very well with you lot…I wonder how many other gyms actively encourage their punters to enjoy a few handfuls of Asda Smart Price Cheesy Nibbles after a workout?

"Football for All" Awareness Day
Becket Sports Centre is proud to announce that it has teamed up with Dartford Ladies' FC to host the "Football for All" awareness day, which is a day of football coaching open to children and young people with learning, sensory and physical impairments. The event takes place on Wednesday 19th August, between 10.30am and 3.30pm.
Dartford Festival 2009
It's the Dartford Festival on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th July in Central Park - and as usual, Becket's will be there!
We're especially excited this year, as it's our first event in partnership with TWO key players in the local community. Becket's Sports Centre is delighted to announce that it is teaming up with Dartford Football Club and The Mick Jagger Centre, in order to provide the local community with the very best leisure and arts scene!
